Finally, I have the motivation to do an OBS post. Honestly, I felt that the OBS trip was going to be another disaster, just like our Sec 2 Cohort camp last year, which was also at Pulau Ubin.

So the day started with me waking up, did some last minute packing, and then cabbed to school. Even though I didnt bring most of the stuff, like solid fuel, jack knife, torchlight etc, I still brought 2 bags with me. And Tze Siang was like, he just brought one sling bag, and it wasnt even bulging. The sling bag was the size of a normal Crumpler, and only clothes were inside. Had to applaud him.

The boat ride to Ubin was a boring one. Hairi was in our boat, and he seemed anti - social. Practically no one talked throughout the entire journey.

Got to Ubin. We were then sent to the multi purpose hall for us to gather. I was amazed at all the high elements there. There was an indoor rock wall, ladders, logs, ropes, all indoors! Then at the top were platforms connecting it all. I was so amazed by everything, but at the same time worrying that this would turn out like the sec 2 cohort camp.

We were placed in groups, at first I was sad that I wasn't put into the same group as Danial Samsir, as he went to Bo Seng, and I went to Kurt. I hardly knew anyone in Kurt well, except for Kenny, so i sticked with him for quite some time in the beginning.

We got our instructor, Yong Kang. Actually I was hoping we didn't get him as the other 2 looked better, Elton and Hairi. Now i'm glad we got him. We first did some stupid AND boring introduction game. We then tried to come up with a group motto. Alot of rubbish came out, but we finally settled on "Be Cool".

After that, came the administrative matters, where we had to settle the things in our store and shit. The guys put up the tents in their bags and the girls planned out the rations. I was feeling quite tired and pissed as I was sleepy, and I had the feeling that this was going to turn out the same as the Sec 2 cohort camp.

After the administratives were settled, we changed into our swim gear and headed for our first activity, KAYAKING!!

We then chose our partners, I was one of the ones left out unfortunately, and I partnered Han Yu and someone else but I forgot >.<. The instructor then told us that every kayak should have a girl, and Amanda joined us :D. The first part was boring, with all the noobish shit, taught by instructors. The capsizing was fun. We then finally headed off, and rafted up at the nearby pontoon. Being the person in the middle ( 3 per son kayak ), I didnt have to hold to other kayaks went rafting up as the front and back person were doing it. We rafted up for a REALLY REALLY long time, as we were waiting for Wilson and Hui Min who got drifted over to like, the other side of the world. they finally changed partneres, with HuiMin with Amira and Yong Ming, Bayar and Wilson. So, Hui Min says Wilson can't kayak for nuts, and I can see why she says that.

So, I, Han Yu and Amanda kayaked all the way to the tip of Ketam Island(Crab Island) with the rest of the people. Had a few water breaks in between. Okay, so by this time, we were really tired, with the freakinig heavy kayak. I know this sounds very egoistic, but I probably could have done better alone, in a light dancer kayak. I would be able to fly across the water.

So, I usually gave the timing. "Left, right, left, right, left right" etc. I and Han Yu were at the back, and Amanda was at the front. So I just gave the normal timing, and STOPPED paddling!! Amanda paddled alone for quite awhile, before realising she was paddling alone. So, yada, yada, we reached the shore. Took a photo, didnt quite look photogenic.

Got ready for dinner after that, but we showered first. Cold water had never felt so good. Prepared the food stuffs, and Hairi showed us how to cook the rice. Out of the 3 groups, our rice was the most soft, and fragrant. It was heaven. We sat all in one big group, and shared everything. No one had problems with that, and we were all like one big happy family. Yay!

To be continued. Gotta sleep.
